Puxatawny Phil, I stand corrected sir

My utmost apologies to Puxatawny Phil who predicted an early spring as our thousandth snow fell from the sky, Mommy was very skeptical to say the least! But that silly old groundhog was right!! I think Spring may be springing!! Oh my goodness baby boy it has been soooo nice outside! After last week's snow Mommy was not happy, in fact I started looking at real estate down south, really down south like Costa Rica because apparently you can get a really good deal there. Anyway just as the last snow was melting the sun began shining down like a beacon from the sky and magically as the temperature rose to the high 60's so did our spirits!! We are having so much fun in the great outdoors! We have been taking a walk in your stroller every afternoon! You love looking around and hearing the birds chirp!







One of your new favorite things is to go out on Mimi and Poppy's deck and let the wind go through your hair! You love it!! Another big milestone occurred this week, you started finger food and practicing with a sippy cup! Soooo big!!! Mommy cannot believe it and actually teared up a bit when I opened the first package of puffs for you (puffs are small fruit flavored cereal bites that melt in your mouth) unfortunately you are not sure about the whole finger food business! The first time Mommy set some out for you on your high chair you just looked at them, then you very methodically placed the puffs one at a time in your lap! I guess you figured if you couldn't see them then you didn't have to eat them! Then Mommy showed you how to put them in your mouth but you are not quite sure about them! You get a very funny look on your face and just suck the flavor off the puff (peach is your favorite) and then spit them out! We are going to try carrots next! Then there is the sippy cup, oh my goodness love! You are not really a fan, I'm going to be honest! The first time Mommy tried you wanted no part of that madness! The Mommy wised up and headed to Mimi's for reinforcements! You did a little better with Mimi's help but are still pretty skeptical! It is so fun to see your little cautious personality come out!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Brrrrr baby boy! Well your first winter has been a doozy so far my love! We have had more snow in usually pleasant middle Tennessee than ever before! Uncle Pook has already used 8 snow days! As Mommy is writing this sleet is falling from the sky and another snow storm is on it's way. Mommy is going to be honest, she is O-V-E-R this weather!! The first snow was all fun and games but there comes a point baby boy that Mommy needs some sunshine!! So anyway we have been hunkered indoors for the better part of two months with only quick shopping trips to our beloved Target! Meanwhile you just keep getting bigger and cuter by the day! You weigh 21 pounds now! You are still lovin your baby food and of course your excersaucer! Mimi and Poppy even got an excersaucer for their house so you can bounce all over the place! Last week was a very big moment for you and Mommy, you spent your very first night away from home! Oh my goodness you are so big now! You had your first sleepover at Mimi and Poppy's!! Mommy thought she might be physically ill from the nerves but knew you were in very good hands and oh my you had so much fun with your Mimi and Poppy! Daddy calls you a professional sleeper because you sleep so well anywhere you are and this held true at Mimi and Poppy's too! You had a great night and morning and Mommy is very proud of herself for making it through the night without you. You are still working on those silly old teeth, now there are more coming in! Maybe by spring we will finally catch a glimpse of the infamous teeth! So until spring finally arrives (Puxatawny Phil the groundhog claims it will be an early spring, Mommy is very skeptical)Mommy decided to go ahead and try on your beach clothes! Mommy thinks if we dress like it is warm outside maybe it finally will be! You look so stinkin cute in your beachwear! Mommy can't wait for our trip to the beach! So until then we will just pretend...
