Your First Hair Cut!!

Well you are officially grown up my love, you have had your first hair cut! I can't believe it!! Let me back up a bit, Mommy has been noticing your hair looking a bit straggly but every time I mentioned you getting a hair cut to Daddy or Mimi they both looked at me like I was crazy! Mimi kept saying "do you really want sharp scissors next to those precious ears??" But then I would say that you were looking a bit like Justin Bieber (which is not a bad thing if you are a tween pop star not a precious baby!) So finally Daddy and Mimi agreed that maybe it was time to trim up the hair a little bit (especially after Daddy saw how long it was wet!) So Mommy made you an appointment at Divas and Dudes (a super cute salon just for kids!) for your very first hair cut! I'll be honest I was a teensy weensy bit nervous about the whole thing, I was convinced that you would absolutely not enjoy this experience at all. Even Daddy weighed in that he did not think this was going to go well and Mimi kept talking about those sharp scissors! But off we went to Divas and Dudes for this momentous occasion. And let me tell you my friend you L-O-V-E-D it!! From the moment we walked into the salon you were so excited!! You kept looking all around and kicking your legs! Now at this moment Mommy is feeling pretty good but I'm convinced this happiness will be short lived when you have to sit in the chair and a stranger comes at you with scissors! So we go to the chair and you hop on there like it was just made for you, just a grinning! You loved the cape and the squirt bottle! You were having sooooo much fun! I think you knew you looked pretty fancy sitting in that chair with your cape on! Mommy thinks the pictures really tell the best story, so here they are!

This is fun! Lovin' the squirt bottle!

Feeling fancy in my cape!

This one is Mommy's favorite! You are checking out your new 'do in the mirror!

What a precious head of hair!

Another milestone Baby Boy!

Easter!!

Yay for your very first Easter! We been having so much fun this Easter season! We started it all off with a trip to the Easter Bunny! Now for some reason your Daddy has some strange fear of the Easter Bunny and was convinced that you would not enjoy sitting on the bunny's lap one bit but Mommy has fond memories of the Easter Bunny and decided that every baby needs to see the Easter Bunny on their first Easter! So off to the mall we went! Mommy was so excited but in the back of my mind was just hoping that you wouldn't freak out at the site of a giant bunny! So there we were in line for the Easter Bunny and Mimi is holding you while we wait and the little girl in front of us has a meltdown at the site of the bunny! Oh dear thought Mommy this is not going to be good....so here comes our turn and Mommy puts you on the bunny's lap and waits for the meltdown and low and behold you L-O-V-E the Easter Bunny!!! I mean you are lovin it! Just a sitting on his lap and smiling! People passing by even stop and comment how happy you are! Mommy and Mimi were so happy!! First Easter Bunny picture a smashing success!!

Meanwhile you have had SIX teeth coming in at the same time!! Oh my goodness love you have been such a trooper! You now have four teeth on the bottom and four on top! You look like such a big boy! You have also become quite the talker and singer! You say "Momma" and "Da-Da" and "Ba-Ba" for your bottle! You also love to sing in the car! Mommy has so much fun riding along with you, one of you other favorite things to do is to wake up singing! Even though sometimes it is VERY early Mommy just smiles at the sound of your beautiful songs in the morning! Oh my goodness love you are doing such big things now! You can stand up all by yourself!! Pretty soon you will be walking I bet, soooo big!

Easter day was such fun love! The Easter Bunny came and filled your basket with lots of goodies, including your very own baby pool for the backyard! We met Mimi, Poppy, Uncle Pook, and Aunti Shanti at church on Easter morning and you were looking exceptionally cute in your Easter outfit! You were such an angel in church love! Just looking all around and smiling at everyone sitting around us! I think you were a bit of a distraction to some!! But a good distraction, who doesn't love a precious baby boy in knee socks?? After church we went back to Mimi and Poppy's house where you had another Easter basket with goodies!! The Easter Bunny also left a very fun walking toy for you so we can practice walking together! Well my love you were having such a fun time on Easter that you didn't even want to take a nap! I think you knew that your MawMaw and PawPaw were coming over and you just didn't want to miss anything! Needless to say you went to bed a bit early that night! All in all though a perfect Easter!!

So Long, Farewell...

Well my love we had to say goodbye to dear old friend today, your swing. Yes, it's true that fateful day has finally arrived where we had to bid adieu to a friend that has treated us both very well. To say it was an amicable breakup would be a reach, in fact a third party was involved. That party being your every gaining weight my friend. You were just too big for your swing! I know love, it makes Mommy so sad too! In fact Mommy may be taking it harder than anyone because that awesome swing provided Mommy the opportunity to shower in those precious few minutes of your morning cat nap. Mommy knew the day was coming, I kept looking up the maximum weight the swing could handle and yesterday it was if you knew this was the end because instead of your usual 15 minute nap you slept for an hour in your trusty and faithful friend! But today when Mommy put you in it, you leaned forward and so did the swing, and Mommy knew that was it for the swing! So Mommy put you in your pack and play to take a cat nap, oh my you were not happy! You looked at me like I was crazy! Needless to say a cat nap did not take place and the carpet is all wet around the pack and play where Mommy rushed over after jumping out of the shower to your very vocal misgivings! I guess this is just a sign of your sooooo bigness! Mommy will always look back on these past nine months with your swing with fondness, boy oh boy you loved to swing! But now we will be passing on the swing to another Grugett baby! Here is a look back on some fun times...

Zoo Baby!

Guess who loves the zoo?? You do my friend!! A couple of Fridays ago Mommy and her friend Jodi thought it would be fun to have a play date at the zoo! That's right not only did we go to the zoo but a play date too! Soooo big my love! So we met Miss Jodi and her two little ones, Jonas and Xander at our super cute Nashville zoo! Now Mommy was so excited about your first trip but didn't have too high of expectations of your level of participation or excitement since you are only nine months old, but you L-O-V-E-D it!! You just looked and looked at everything! Your favorite part was the indoor aquarium, which by the way Mommy has to hold you in because you can't take in your strollers, and let me tell you my friend you are heavy!! But it was worth the numbing pain in Mommy's arm to see your excitement! The bats were your favorite and you liked the fish too! After wandering around a bit Miss Jodi and her brood decided to leave for nap time so Mommy found us a nice shady bench to feed you lunch. Oh my goodness you had so much fun eating in your stroller! You attracted quite the crowd of admirers also! What a fun way to spend a Friday morning together my love! So Mommy decided that obviously you are a zoo baby so I told Daddy all about it and decided we needed a membership ASAP! Then on Sunday we went back to the zoo!! And guess who came with us?? Daddy!!! And we met up with Uncle Lee, Aunt Leigh, Ryan, Miss Stephanie and Ellie! Yay for zoo group outings!!! The only thing missing was Abby! But I have a feeling we will all be venturing to the zoo together this summer! This time around at the zoo you rode the carousel! Once again Mommy was a bit skeptical that you would enjoy it but you L-O-V-E-D it too! You had such fun showing Daddy all your favorite things, and listening to those noisy monkeys also! So much fun love, Mommy can't wait for more fun visits to the zoo!

Love my Daddy!

Well my love while I'm thrilled with this new development Mommy is a little sad that I have been replaced as your favorite person in the whole wide world, that's right my love it's all about Daddy right now! Oh my goodness how you love your Daddy!! From the moment you wake up you are ready to see Daddy! You get sooooo excited when you see him in Mommy and Daddy's bed in the morning (we are still continuing our morning ritual of snuggling and watching CNN)you go straight for Daddy! Daddy and you just talk and play until Daddy has to go to work, then you settle for Mommy until wait for it....Daddy comes home! I have never seen such a smile as you smile when you first see Daddy coming home, I mean we are talking arms waving, feet kicking laughing out loud kind of excitement! Even on the weekends you don't like to take a nap sometimes because you know your Daddy is home and you don't want to miss playing with him! It makes Mommy so happy how much you love your Daddy but today my love Mommy felt a little played! Let me just tell you that kind of mood you were in, one word my love: teething! That's right those silly old teeth are not treating you well and you have been a bit fussy all day today, in fact you threw a bit of a fit while Mommy was trying to lunch with a friend you even dumped Mommy's water all over her lap! Anyway Mommy has been trying to distract and keep you busy all day, even Mimi tried! So Mommy has been telling Daddy all day that you were not in the best of moods. Well low and behold guess who was Mr. Happy Pants when a certain person came home?? As soon as you saw your Daddy you were happy as a clam! Daddy even fed you dinner because you were fussy when Mommy tried (hurts my feelings a bit love I'll be honest but I'll get it over it!) Then it was bath time and guess who gave you a bath? Daddy!! Oh how you love your Daddy!! There is nothing that Mommy loves more than seeing her two favorite boys happy together!

They're Here!! and Other Happenings

Oh those elusive pearly whites have finally made their appearance!! That's right my love you are now the proud owner of TWO teeth! You have two perfect little bottom teeth, you look soooo big! You are currently working on the two top ones as well, pretty soon you will have a mouth full of teeth! Mommy just can't seem to get a good picture of them, I will keep trying!

We have had a busy couple of weeks! When we last left off, spring had sprung and we were gearing up for our first trip to the park. Well Mommy and Daddy took you to our little park down the street and had a grand old time, really anything that has to do with your Daddy you absolutely LOVE! Here you are playing at the park!

Meanwhile Mimi and Poppy decided to have an island getaway and left us for 9 whole days!!! It was the longest Mimi had ever gone without seeing you! Anyway Mimi and Poppy decided that next time they are gone that long they are taking Mommy and you with them! While Mimi and Poppy were living it up island style KK and Grandaddy came to visit! You had such fun showing them all your tricks! We had a very fun and busy couple of days shopping and showing you off all around town! KK and Grandaddy love hearing you talk and of course you love to do some talking so fun times all around!

After KK and Grandaddy headed home Mommy took you to your very first story time at the library!! It was soooo much fun! You had such a great time listening to the story and smiling at all the babies around you! Mommy was so proud of your listening ears and quiet voice in the library. We even sang songs together! Mommy can't wait until you are old enough for story time once a week at the library! Here we are at library! I think you are checking out another baby on the floor!

Everyday you are learning and exploring more, Mommy is just in awe of you baby boy!

Puxatawny Phil, I stand corrected sir

My utmost apologies to Puxatawny Phil who predicted an early spring as our thousandth snow fell from the sky, Mommy was very skeptical to say the least! But that silly old groundhog was right!! I think Spring may be springing!! Oh my goodness baby boy it has been soooo nice outside! After last week's snow Mommy was not happy, in fact I started looking at real estate down south, really down south like Costa Rica because apparently you can get a really good deal there. Anyway just as the last snow was melting the sun began shining down like a beacon from the sky and magically as the temperature rose to the high 60's so did our spirits!! We are having so much fun in the great outdoors! We have been taking a walk in your stroller every afternoon! You love looking around and hearing the birds chirp!

One of your new favorite things is to go out on Mimi and Poppy's deck and let the wind go through your hair! You love it!! Another big milestone occurred this week, you started finger food and practicing with a sippy cup! Soooo big!!! Mommy cannot believe it and actually teared up a bit when I opened the first package of puffs for you (puffs are small fruit flavored cereal bites that melt in your mouth) unfortunately you are not sure about the whole finger food business! The first time Mommy set some out for you on your high chair you just looked at them, then you very methodically placed the puffs one at a time in your lap! I guess you figured if you couldn't see them then you didn't have to eat them! Then Mommy showed you how to put them in your mouth but you are not quite sure about them! You get a very funny look on your face and just suck the flavor off the puff (peach is your favorite) and then spit them out! We are going to try carrots next! Then there is the sippy cup, oh my goodness love! You are not really a fan, I'm going to be honest! The first time Mommy tried you wanted no part of that madness! The Mommy wised up and headed to Mimi's for reinforcements! You did a little better with Mimi's help but are still pretty skeptical! It is so fun to see your little cautious personality come out!

First Mimi shows you how to drink from the sippy cup

Then you try it with your hands

This is hard work Mimi! All tuckered out!

Can't wait until Saturday because Daddy and Mommy are taking you to the park for the very first time!! Pictures and stories to look forward to!
